A 46-year-old Clinton man remained behind bars late Friday afternoon charged with first degree burglary, a felony.

Donald Wayne Graybill, of 612 Stewart Ave., is under a $50,000 bond following his arrest Thursday night not too far from his home, reportedly caught inside a neighbor’s residence.

According to Clinton Police reports, the victim called E911 around 9:30 p.m. after hearing what she believed was someone inside her home.

The suspect allegedly gained entry into the residence through a window and was apparently prowling around inside when the victim heard the noise, secured herself in the bedroom and called for law enforcement.

When officers arrived, they found Graybill and took him into custody.

He was charged with the felony and jailed.

Graybill is expected to make his first appearance in Sampson County District Court next week.
