Agents with the Sampson Special Investigation Division, with assistance from the N.C. Highway Patrol and the State Bureau of Investigation, located 24 marijuana plants in a wooded area off Devond Tew Road near Roseboro Thursday afternoon.
The plants were discovered as the SID was working marijuana eradication in the area, Sheriff’s Cpl. Marcus Smith said.
Agents seized the plants but located no suspects in the area.
An investigation is ongoing and no further information was available at press time.

9/5 - Brandon Lee Warren, 20, 510 Johnson Hwy., Newton Grove, flee to elude arrest, resist arrest, court violations (4 counts). Bond $7,500; court date Sept. 19.
9/5 - Retam Dixon, 46, 613 Williams St., Clinton, court violation. Bond $316; court date Sept. 16.
9/5 - Patrick Nazworth, 43, 1509 Cartertown Road, Clinton, cyberstalking. Bond $1,500; court date Sept. 10.
9/5 - An air condition unit valued at $3,000 was stolen from a residence on South Salemburg Highway. It was taken from the side of a storage building. No damage reported.
