In a hard-fought physical game, the Leopards fell to the Spring Creek Gators 2-6 at Lakewood on Monday.
The Gators came ready to play and put the ball in the net two times within the first 20 minutes of the game.
Lakewood answered with a score of their on five minutes later and the first half ended with a score of 1-2 with Spring Creek in the lead.
The physical battle continued into the second half.
The Leopards attacked the net with 8 minutes off the clock to tie the score at 2-all.
Three penalty kicks (PKs) and a lucky bounce off the goal gave the Gators 4 more points to put on the scoreboard.
Time ran out before Lakewood had a chance to bounce back.
Lakewood head coach Jay Faircloth was disappointed with the loss.
“We had three PK’s (penalty kicks) called against us, and I’m just going to bit my tongue and not say anything else about that. We simply collapsed in the second half,” attested Coach Faircloth.
Frances Flores and Jonathan Gonzalez each scored for Lakewood.
The Leopard’s record moves to 2-6-1 and they travel to Rosewood on Monday.
