Sampson natives ring NASDAQ opening bell

Donna Wilson Thagard, formerly of Clinton, and Donald Crumpler, formerly of Spivey’s Corner, represented Stock Building Supply for the ringing of the opening NASDAQ bell in New York City on Aug. 29. The company went public in August.

Thagard is a 1983 graduate of Clinton High School, a 1987 graduate of Meredith College and the daughter of Donald and Carol Wilson of Clinton, wife of Leonard Thagard Jr, formerly of Clinton, and currently serves as vice president, corporate controller of Stock Building Supply.

Crumpler is a 1990 Midway High graduate, a 1994 NCSU graduate, a 1999 Fayetteville State graduate and the son of Faye Crumpler and the late Charles T. (Tommy) Crumpler, husband to Christy Jackson Crumpler, formerly of Clinton, and currently serves as vice president, supply chain for Stock Building Supply.

Will Thornton, who serves as vice president, tax and credit for Stock Building Supply, also has Sampson County family connections and participated in the opening bell ringing ceremony. His parents are Gerald Thornton, formerly of Clinton and son of former Clinton police chief, William “Bill” Thornton, and Katrina Crumpler Thornton, formerly of Piney Green.
