The Lady Lions middle school volleyball team played tough on Wednesday in Wildcat country, defeating Hobbton Middle in 3 sets: 25-13 25-13 25- 21
Leading scorers for MCA were Sydeny Norris with 24 service points and Brianna Wheeler with 17 service points.
Head coach Dan Heinz was proud of the way his team played.
“Our girls play well tonight. We served the ball very well, and Savannah Fann and Brianna Wheeler ran the offense allowing Sydney Norris to collect 12 kills, Erynn Sessoms 7 kills and Hanna Horne 5,” he said.
“Hobbton has a talented group of athletes, and can put a lot of pressure on you with their serve. Fortunately our serve receive was up to the challenge with Caroline Mathews and Courtney Barber passing very well,” Coach Heinz continued.
The Lady Lions are now 8-2.
Mintz will host an invitational tournament on Monday, Oct 28th, hosting New Life Academy, Spirite of Life, and Community Baptist. The Lions will finish the season at RSMS on Tuesday, Oct. 29th.
