The Raiders traveled to Wallace Rose Hill Friday evening to take on the Bulldogs in the dog pen. The Raiders played better than the 35-17 loss indicated on the scoreboard.

The game stated off well for the Raiders, as they would strike first on a 33 yard touchdown pass from Taylor Calcutt to Andre Sankey. The Raiders had a 7-0 lead 5 minutes into the game.

The Wallace rushing attack then took a toll on the Raiders as Alex Lisane, Dijon Kenan, and Jhanta Wilson all scored on consecutive possessions for the Bulldogs. A Raider field goal by Junior Barajas cut the Bulldog lead to 21-10 at halftime.

The Bulldogs marched down the field in their first possession of the second half to go up 28-10. Midway fought back quickly as Calcutt found Sankey again, this time from 15 yards to cut the lead to 28-17.

The Midway defense played well the rest of the evening, but after Midway turned the ball over deep in their own territory, Wallace was able to punch in another rushing attack for a 35-17 lead, which turned out to be the final.

The Wallace rushing attack hurt the Raiders the entire evening. Wallace moved the ball very effectively, and only passed the ball two plays the entire evening.

Midway on the other hand showed promise going to the air. Taylor Calcutt had a big game going 11-20 through the air with 157 yards and 2 touchdowns, both to Andre Sankey, who had 8 catches and 108 yards receiving to go along with the pair of touchdowns.

Atlantis Warren led the Midway rushing attack with 14 carries for 47 yards. Luke Clark had a big game defensively, leading the Raiders with 10 tackles.

Midway returns home to play Trask for homecoming next week. The Raiders are now 6-2 after dropping two consecutive games to two very talented teams. The Raiders still have many goals they want to accomplish the season, and the weapons to do so.
