A traffic stop near Newton Grove last weekend left one man in trouble with county law enforcement and facing several misdemeanor charges.

Jose Aguilar Munoz, 36, 3495 Goldsboro Hwy., Newton Grove, was charged with simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of an open container of alcohol in the passenger area of a vehicle and driving while license revoked.

According to Sheriff’s Cpl. Marcus Smith, Munoz was pulled over for a traffic violation by agents with the Special Investigation Division around 10:30 p.m. on Goldsboro Highway. A consent to search turned up one dosage unit of Hydrocodone and 5 dosage units of Diazepam.
