A Roseboro man was arrested on a methamphetamine charge and a Raleigh man was taken into custody for attempting to obtain prescriptions by fraud in drug-related incidents investigated by Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities.
On Friday, Troy Lestus Sessoms, 45, of 4374 Hayne Stretch Road, Roseboro, was charged with possession of a Scheduled II controlled substance. Sessoms was arrested on Woodland Lane, Roseboro, and placed under $2,000 secured bond for the felony drug charge.
“Officers approached a suspicious vehicle on Woodlane Lane,” Cpl. Marcus Smith said. “While talking with the subject, they noticed plastic baggies on the ground.”
Smith said the subject, Sessoms, gave his consent for deputies to search the vehicle. During that search, a glass pipe used to ingest meth was found. He claimed ownership of the pipe, Smith said. According to reports, half a gram of meth was seized during Sessoms’ arrest.
In a separate incident Saturday, Benjamin Alan Lee, 21, of 921 Wake Towne Drive, Raleigh, was charged with attempting to obtain controlled substance by fraud. Bond was set at $10,000 and he was given a court date for Friday.
Lee was arrested at Clinton Drug Co. on Beaman Street by Sampson County Sheriff’s agents and served the felony charge.
“Officers received a call of a suspect trying to pass fraudulent prescriptions,” said Smith. “They located the suspect (Lee) and arrested him.”
