Union’s head coach Bryant Register said, “First off I want to congratulate Coach (Lofton) Carr and his girls on the win tonight. Overall, I’m very proud of our young ladies. I thought they played with great effort and intensity, and competed well. We’ve just got some mistakes we have to clean up a bit, and we‘ll have a quick turnaround tomorrow against Triton.”
Leading scorers for Union were Eva Long with 9 points, Destiny Robinson with 7 points, Shiquilla Walker with 4 points.
Union and Triton girls will play a consolation game Saturday, and Lakewood will vie with East Bladen for the championship.
