The Lakewood baseball team put up a fight against Rosewood on Friday, but eventually fell 5-1 to the Eagles.
Raymond Spell, Lakewood’s head coach, was disappointed with the loss, but hopeful for the games to come.
“We’re just not hitting the ball very well. When we start hitting the ball more, we are going to be a tough team to beat. Until that day comes, it’s just a little frustrating,” he stated.
For Lakewood, Zack Tanner pitched the first 3 innings; JJ Tanner pitched 3 2/3 innings, and Austin Tanner finished out the game.
Lakewood is now holding a 1-6 record and will host out-of-county rivals James Kenan on Tuesday.
