The Hobbton Wildcats handed the Union Spartans a 6-2 decision on Thursday afternoon in middle school soccer action. “We had to work hard for everything we got. The score does not reflect how even the game was,” said Hobbton coach Damon Burnett. The Wildcats would score first when Jovanna Zapata would score on a one-on-one. Zapata would assist on the second goal by crossing it to Maria Lopez who would score her first goal of the season. The score would remain 2-0 at halftime thanks to the goalkeeper play of Hobbton’s Sarah Daughtry who would stop 3 breakaways by Union.

Hobbton would get two more goals. The third goal came from Zapata and the fourth from Denisse Sada-Romero to make it 4-0. Union would score the next two on breakaways to make it 4-2. Katherine Aguilar would add a fifth goal and Angelica Ramirez would convert a penalty to complete the scoring.
