Auditions for “Grease” were held this past Saturday on the big stage of the Sampson Community Theatre, and they were remarkable due to the quanity and quality of the folks who were hoping to obtain a role in this popular musical. The director had planned to choose cast members and a few understudies but after all the auditioners had been seen and heard she was so impressed by the amount of talent she had to work with that she has decided to double the cast, dividing them into a Movers cast and a Shakers cast which means every cast member will get to appear in at least four complete performances including twice on weekends.
Taylor Gilbert and Nick Owen will share the role of “Danny” while Logan Tart and Sarah Day will share the role of “Sandy.” Chad Lewis and Jonathan Arp will share the role of “Kenicki” while Lily Turlington and Katherine Guitierrez share the role of “Rizzo.” Janet Rawls, who did such a good job in “Dixie Swim Club,” will play all eight performances in “Grease” as “Miss Lynch”.
As you can see there is going to be loads of talent to entertain you on June 19 at 8 p.m. when “Grease” opens at the Sampson Community Theatre so plan to be with us and watch the great talent that resides in our midst. Performance Dodge is especially proud to be a corporate sponsor of this popular musical.

Thoughts until next week
• Do something wonderful, people may imitate it.
• Affection is responsible for nine-tenths of whatever solid and durable happiness there is in our lives.
• There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest.
