An argument between a northern Sampson County woman and another couple turned violent early Tuesday morning, sending one woman to the emergency room.

According to Sampson County Sheriff’s reports, the 19-year-old woman told investigators she had seen an old school mate at a truck stop on I-95 in Dunn late Tuesday evening, around 11 p.m. After a few minutes, the woman began arguing with the other female and her male companion.

Thinking the argument was over, the woman drove back to her Sampson County home, located on Country Manor Lane, just north of the Plain View area. However, the suspect and her companion had followed her home.

As the 19-year-old went into her home, the female suspect followed her in and began attacking her with a beer bottle.

The victim was transported to Betsy Johnson Regional Hospital suffering from a laceration to the face and a bruise to the back of her head. She was treated for her injuries and later released Wednesday morning.

As of Wednesday, warrants for the arrest of the woman were not taken out by the alleged assault victim.

If you have any information on this incident you are asked to call the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office at 910-592-4141. All tips will be anonymous.
