The Harrells Christian basketball teams took on Fayetteville Christian Friday night, with the teams splitting victories. The girls got the win 55-22, but the boys lost a hard-fought battle 58-47.

Boys Game

The Crusader boys started out pretty even with the opponents, leading after the first quarter 14-13 and taking a 30-27 lead into the half. But a bad third quarter, with Fayetteville outscoring the Crusaders 15-7, left the Harrells boys trailing, a deficit they were unable to overcome despite great attempts in the fourth to get back in the game.

Graham DePinto led scoring for the Crusaders with 12 points, followed by Zack Carlton with 10. Also scoring for HCA was Josh Driskill, 7; Patrick Walker, 6; John Wesley Hairr, 4; Kelly Nelms, 3; and Chris Cannady, 3.

DiPinto also pulled down 4 rebounds, and Walker and Driskill pulled down 2 each.

The Crusader record moves to 2-8 overall and 0-2 in the conference. They face Arendell Parrott Academy Monday.

Girls Game

The Lady Crusaders scorched Fayetteville Academy, amassing 55 points on the night while holding their opponents to only 22.

Harrells started off on fire, leading after one quarter 16-8, and never looking back. At the half, the girls were ahead 29-12 and by the end of the third period had a commanding 43-16 lead.

Daisha Jordan led scoring for the Lady Crusaders with 15. She also pulled down 3 rebounds and had four steals.

Following closely behind was Regan Murhpy, with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 steals; Emily Benton, 8 points, 1 rebound; Ann DeVane, 7 points, 1 rebound, 3 steals and 3 assists; Bucky Everette, 5 points, 5 rebounds; 2 steals, 2 assists; Haylee Parks, 4 points, 4 rebounds; and Anna Huff, 2 points, 7 rebounds.

The girls move to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play. They face Parrott Academy Monday
