City crews are working to repair a water line break on Stewart Avenue that is being called one of the largest in Clinton’s history.
Despite the extent of water loss — “easily 300,000 gallons” — water pressure has been maintained and has not dipped throughout the system, city manager John Connet said. Water has been shut off to 75 residences in and around Stewart Avenue, the site of the break discovered Monday morning, as crews work to fix the damage.
Stewart Avenue is currently closed from West Cutchin Street to Nicholson Street, and will likely be closed until at least late Monday afternoon.
