The D. A. R. — will have a patriotic ceremony on the courthouse steps on Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. to celebrate the beginning of Constitution Week by having a bell ringing for the D.A.R. “Bells Across America” and a reading of the Constitution. All churches are asked to ring their bells for four minutes beginning at 4 p.m.

Warren reunion — Eighty-fourth annual reunion of the descendants of Isaiah Warren, Sr. will be held Sept. 13 at Newton Grove United Methodist Church, 133 South Church St., Newton Grove. The program will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the sanctuary and will be followed by a potluck lunch in the fellowship hall. Bring a favorite dish; beverages will be provided. Bellamy Center Temporarily closing — beginning Sept. 10 and continuing through Sept. 18 to install a new gym floor. The facility will re-open on Sept. 21.

Union High School Class of 1970 — is planning their 45th class reunion. 60th Annual Sutton Reunion — The descendants of James and Nancy Cobb Sutton will hold their reunion on Sept. 13 at Goshen United Methodist Church, Suttontown. The theme for this year’s reunion is North Carolina, our home. The reunion will begin with a program at 11:30 a.m. in the church sanctuary followed by a potluck lunch in the fellowship hall.

Meals-on-Wheels Volunteers — needed for Monday-Friday delivery. Anyone with a willing heart and helping hand can volunteer approximately one hour a day. FMI call Mattie, 592-5604.

Support group — Stroke support group meets the third Tuesday in each month at Mary Gran Nursing Center.
