The Clinton Rotary Club sponsored a musical theatre workshop at The Performing Arts School. Two classes were offered free of charge to members of the community, thanks to the club’s generous grant. Twenty-two participants ranging from ages 7-59 had the oppurtunity to have instruction in both music and dance during the workshop.

Instructors Jay Wright and Jess Barbour from North Carolina Theater Conservatory in Raleigh taught the participants routines from Broadway musicals. “The students were very enthusiastic and learned the material quickly,” said Wright. “It was fun for me as an instructor to work with such energetic students.”

Candy Taylor, past president of the Clinton Rotary Club, also attended the event. “It was a privilege for our club to have the oppurtunity to support the arts in Sampson County,” stated Taylor.
