Events to be held at the CSS Neuse Civil War Interpretive Center


Below is a list of current and upcoming events for the CSS Neuse Civil War Interpretive Center.

Jan. 6 – June 1 — “Treasures from the Vault” Temporary Exhibit. Exhibit will showcase special items that have not previously been on display or that have recently been donated to the museum.

Feb. 2016 – “African Americans in the Civil War Navies” — The museum will highlight the exploits of African Americans in the navies during the American Civil War with a different profile each week both at the museum and on social media.

Mar. 12, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. — Commemorative Program — This program will commemorate the Battle of Wyse Fork and the scuttling of the CSS Neuse in March of 1865.

Apr. 2, 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. — Civilian’s Role in the Civil War and Social Norms — This event will look into the daily lives of civilians in North Carolina during the Civil War. A portion of the program will also address social norms and etiquette from the time.
