SCS Board honors students


Matthew Outlaw of Midway Middle School was recognized for his involvement in the Duke Talent Identification Program.


The Board of Education recognized the Midway Elementary School Battle of the Books team for earning first place in the district’s Battle of the Books competition and fourth in the regional competition.


Logan Pate, a Hobbton Middle School student, was honored by the Sampson County Board of Education for having the highest score of any middle and high school student in the Southeastern District All District Band. He was also selected as first chair alto saxophone for the Southeastern Band Masters District and first chair All-state.
