Area churches begin hosting VBS

On Wednesday, June 22-24 at 6 p.m., Vacation Bible School will be held at Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Refreshments will be served.

On Wednesday, June 22, at 7 p.m., Service will be held at Holly Grove Holiness Church on 1519 Indian Town Rd., Clinton. The speaker is Minister Gail Parker and the praise team will render the music.

On Wednesday, June 22-24 at 7:30 p.m., Greater Six Runs Church will have their Pre-Pastor Anniversary for Pastor Leslie Morrisey, with different guest speakers each night. On Sunday, June 26, at 11 a.m., the guest messenger will be the Rev. Ross, choir and congregation of Hills Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Faison. Dinner will be served following the morning service. At 3 p.m.the guest messenger will be Bishop Alton Smith, choir and congregation of St. Mark Disciples of Christ, Goldsboro.

On Friday, June 24, at 7 p.m., Youth Night Service will be held at New Life Outreach Ministries, Clinton. The guest messenger will be Elder Deron McLamb of Bentonville Disciples of Christ Church, Four Oaks. Refreshments will be served.

On Friday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m., Prophetic Service will be held at The New Church of Christ, Faison. The guest will be Prophetess Gwendolyn Gibbs, choir and congregation of Love Ministry, New Bern.

On Friday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m., Pre-Men’s Day Service will be held at St. Jude United Holy Church, Clinton. The continuation of the service will be Sunday, June 26, at 11 a.m. Pastor Elder Willie Bryant will minister the word and the male chorus will render the music. Male chorus concert at 4 p.m. with several musical guests.

On Saturday, June 25, at 7 a.m.-until, Holly Grove Disciples of Christ Church is sponsoring a benefit yard sale for Shakiera Faison of Clinton, which will be held at the corner of King Road and Hobbton Highway, Clinton. FMI call 910-580-9869.

On Saturday, June 25, at 9:30 a.m., The Upper Sampson Missionary Union Auxiliary to the Western Union Missionary Baptist Association, will be held at Ingold First Baptist Church. The Missionary Prayer Day will be at 11 a.m.

On Saturday, June 25, at 5 p.m., New Light A.ME. Zion Church will host the trial sermon of Mary Malloy, daughter of the late Mattie and Ester Butler.

On Sunday, June 26, at 10 a.m., The 36th Pastor Anniversary for pastor John T. Oliver of First Missionary Baptist Church, Roseboro. The guest messenger will be the Rev. Ray Bolton, choir and congregation of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. At 3 p.m.the guest messenger will be Dr. Lillian Spearman, choir and congregation of Second Chance Ministries, Fayetteville.

On Sunday, June 26, at 10 a.m., Regular morning worship service will be held at Big Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton.There will be a guest messenger and the youth choir will render the music.

On Sunday, June 26, at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m., Sunday school and regular morning service will be held at Holly Grove Holiness Church, Clinton. Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Randy Simmons, will minister the word and Holly Grove, Next Generation Band will render the music.

On Sunday, June 26, at 11 a.m., Regular morning service will be held at Lisbon St. Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. The guest messenger will be the Rev. A.J. Connors of Rocky Point. Music will be rendered by the male chorus.

On Sunday, June 26, at 11 a.m., Youth Day Service will be held at Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, Autryville. The guest minister will be the Rev. Roger Davis (associate minister) of Springfield Baptist Church, Raleigh. Revival begins on June 27-July 1 at 7 p.m. The guest revivalist will be the Rev. Leslie Morrisey of Greater Six Runs Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey.

On Sunday, June 26, at 3 p.m., A Birthday Celebration will be held at Jackson Grove Bible Church of God, Midway. The guest speaker will be Bishop Sherphed Pierce choir and congregation of Jackson Grove Bible Church of God, Rennert, NC. Refreshments will be served.

On Sunday, June 26, at 3:30 p.m., Greater Mt. Calvary Holiness Church will celebrate their 23rd Combined Choir Anniversary. There will be several musical guests on the program. On Sunday, June 26, at 3:30 p.m., Usher’s Anniversary will be held at Running Branch Disciples of Christ Church, Clinton. The guest messenger will be the Rev. Virgil B. Ward, ushers, choir and congregation of Oak Grove A.M.E. Zion Church, Erwin. Refreshments will be served.

On Sunday, June 26, at 4 p.m., An Apprecation Benefit Service will be held for Pastor Harold Jr. Boykin, at Lisbon St. Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. Several speakers will be on the program and music rendered by the Boykin brothers.

On Monday, June 27-30 at 6 p.m., Vacation Bible School will be held at The New Church of Christ, Faison. Refreshments will be served.

On Monday, July 11-15 at 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Saint Stephen A.M.E. Zion Church, located at 51 E. Third St., Garland, will hold a Robotics Camp for ages 5-13. You can learn to design, build and program real robots. FMI and registration please contact Keisha at 910-214-0547.
