SCS honors educators


A Hobbton High School teacher was recognized by the Board of Education for several recent accomplishments. Timothy Brandon Thompson of Hobbton High School was named the Technology Student Association (TSA) Advisor of the Year and he also received the International Technology and Engineering Educators Association Teacher Excellence Award.


Several employees were recognized by the Board of Education for earning Advanced Degrees since last December: Charles Pollock of Hobbton Middle School, Heather Anderson of Midway High School, Natasha Peterson of Hobbton Middle School, Maribel Hernandez of Central Office, Tomekia Cromartie of Union Elementary School, Cynthia Templin of Union Elementary School , Debra Malahias of Union Middle School, Randi Kaye Honeycutt of Roseboro Elementary School , and Edward Zigmont of Salemburg Elementary School.


Several teachers were recognized by the Board of Education at its May meeting for receiving grants this Spring. Grant Recipients in attendance were: Stephanie Tew of Union Elementary School (Donors Choose), Edward Zigmont of Salemburg Elementary School (Simple Gifts Grant), Heather Anderson of Midway High School (Operation Round-Up), Danielle George of Hobbton High School (Operation Round-Up), Lauren Strickland of Hargrove Elementary (Operation Round-Up), and Geoffrey Tart of Hobbton Middle School (Operation Round-Up). Not pictured: Stephanie Woodcock of Union High School (Donors Choose), Carrie Sutton of Hobbton Elementary School (CenturyLink).
