A man stands charged in the sexual abuse of a child in an alleged incident first reported to authorities about seven months ago.
Allen Lee Blue, 34, reportedly of South Carolina, was charged with taking indecent liberties with a child, a felony offense. Bond was set at $30,000 secured. The charge was served at the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday.
Limited information is often made available by investigators regarding sexual assault cases, especially those involving juvenile victims.
Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Pope said the alleged incident was reported on Nov. 18, 2015. The Department of Social Services was contacted and alerted sheriff’s authorities of “allegations of sexual abuse against a minor child.” Pope declined to give the age of the victim to further protect the victim and their family members from being identified.
“It was investigated and probable cause was established to take out the felony warrant,” Pope noted.
Blue does have a rap sheet that includes numerous convictions in Sampson, Forsyth and Franklin counties on charges of assault on a female, breaking and entering, larceny, injury to property and communicating threats. His most recent conviction was in 2013 on drug charges in Forsyth, for which he served three and a half months in prison.
Blue was given a court date of July 1.
