Mintz Christian Academy has received notification on K-12 accreditation through the Association of Christian Schools International.

Mintz Christian Academy has experienced several important milestones over the last year.

In addition to the school’s first graduating class, the academy has received K-12 accreditation through the Association of Christian Schools International or ACSI. ACSI provides a highly regarded accreditation program for secondary, elementary and preschools.

“This is very important for us to show that we have submitted ourselves to meet those standards,” Winnie White, co-coordinator of the accreditation committee, said.

According to White, accreditation and school improvement assists member schools in changing for the better in an orderly and systematic way. The process to receive the accreditation has taken seven years, as the school began working on the process at the opening.

This accreditation, White said, is very honorable and documents that the school is true to its own foundational statement, affirms that the school meets standards of quality established by the community, provides validation of the credibility of the school through a peer review process, promotes accountability to the school community, improves instruction targeting increased student achievement, promotes ongoing instruction, encourages the evaluation of biblical integration and transfers credits between schools.

“Accreditation has been a goal of MCA from the first year the school opened in August of 2009,” White said. “Administration, teachers, staff, and family members have rigorously worked to meet this goal by the year 2016 to honor the first graduating high school class. The school gives all honor to God for helping reach this monumental goal.”

With the accreditation, White said the school will be able to offer students additional programs and testing at the school, rather than the students having to travel to other schools for tests like the SAT.

“This accreditation gives our students more options,” White added. “There will be more scholarship options for the students too.”
