The Sampson Arts Council is planning to host an artist reception to introduce the work of two local artists.
An artist reception will be held Aug. 17 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Victor R. Small House gallery. This event will feature the work of Michael Ray and Brooks Barwick from Aug. 17 until Sept. 22.
This event is free and open to the public. Receptions are typically held on Thursdays, but due to the Alive After Five concert scheduled for Aug. 18, the reception will be held Wednesday evening.
Ray is the art instructor at Clinton High School. Barwick, who is a former student of Ray’s, is a recent graduate of Kenyon College.
“The Sampson Ats Council is honored to showcase their work,” Arts Council director Kara Donatelli said.
Ray’s work will feature acrylic painting and prints, while Barwick’s work will feature encaustic and oil on panel.
