(The public reports listed below are provided by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, the Clinton Police Department and the N.C. Highway Patrol via the Sheriff’s Office daily jail report.)

Incidents/investigations

• Sept. 26 — Christopher Hill of Clinton reported items stolen and property damaged. His mailbox and his Maltese, valued at $900, were stolen. Damage was inflicted to a Chevy Avalanche owned by Deangelo Taylor, as well as window screens, camera equipment and a weight bench. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $2,000. Other damage tallied $350.

• Sept. 26 — Darrell Smith of Clinton reported the theft of a 9mm handgun and ammunition, valued at $500 total.

• Sept. 26 — Craig Bryant of Newton Grove reported a break-in and theft of two LED TVs and a Sony PlayStation, valued at $1,800 total. Damage to the front door was estimated at $50.

• Sept. 26 — Daniel McLamb of Willard reported a compound bow and arrows, valued at $800, taken from his front porch.
