‘Jospeh’ performances set for weekend

By Bruce Caldwell - Contributing columnist

The cast of “Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” were disappointed that Hurricane Matthew kept them from performing last weekend at the Sampson Community Theater.

The historic storm is now gone and the cast is anxious to get back on stage ASAP so performances of “Joseph” are planned for Friday, Oct. 14, at 8 p.m. and this Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. and again at 8 p.m. for a total of six performances over the four days.

Hopefully the roads will be open and safe to travel so that this hard working cast will have a lot of folks coming to see them perform. We thank Performance Dodge for sponsoring this show which is family friendly and appropriate for all ages to enjoy. If you would like to get your tickets early they are available at Inkspot and at Matthew’s Gifts.

Don’t forget Angela Martin will be holding auditions for “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. Performances are the first two weekends of December.

The 2017 shows that we have scheduled so far is “Mary Poppins” scheduled for February, “Fiddler on the Roof”, “Suessical the Musical”and “Les Miserables.” The other shows are listed below but are subject to change.

Thoughts until next week:

The greatest mistake we make is living in constant fear we will make one.

When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive-to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.

It’s never too late to be what you want to be….unless you want to be younger, then you can forget it.
