Sampson County Schools held their Middle School Battle of the Books District Competition on Friday, March 10 at Midway High School.

Students answered questions on 27 different books in head-to-head competitions with other teams. Roseboro-Salemburg Middle School earned the top prize and will participate in the Region 4/Sandhills Battle of the Books Competition on April 3, at the Cumberland County Educational Resource Center.

Hobbton Middle School came in second, Midway Middle School was third, and Union Middle School was fourth.

District officials said all of the students who participated need to be commended for reading the assigned books and participating in the competition.
