Deputies of the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Clinton woman on charges related to illegal drugs.

Denise R. Pennington, 43, of 2650 Turkey Highway, Clinton was charged with four separate charges of felony possession pseudoephedrine with prior meth convictions.

“The suspect was arrested because an investigation revealed she had a prior meth conviction and had purchased pseudoephedrine in Sampson County on four different occasions,” said Lt. Marcus Smith of the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office. “Once she was taken into custody it was discovered that she also had outstanding warrants and was served with the outstanding warrants.”

The arrest occurred on Hamilton Drive in Clinton. Pennington was later confined in the Sampson County Detention Center. Her bond was set at $20,000 and a court date was set for July 31.
