Located in the heart of Sampson County, Sampson Community College is gearing up for the thousands of students that will start or continue their educational journey this fall. With the mission to provide accessible and affordable education, workforce training and lifelong enrichment, Sampson Community College invites to you to embark on your educational journey this fall and reach your educational goals.
If you or your child has thought about attending Sampson Community College (SCC) in August, you are encouraged to complete the admission process as soon as possible. Enrollment of students will continue through the first of August, however financial aid can take a few weeks to process. Therefore, SCC Student Services staff encourages prospective students to have admissions and financial aid complete prior to July 30.
The detailed steps to begin your SCC journey can be found on the SCC Website, www.sampsoncc.edu, under the admissions tab. New students will need to complete an online application, interest profiler, submit transcripts, and take the placement test, unless waived. The next placement test dates are July 28, July 29 and August 6. With the placement test just around the corner, prospective students are encouraged to start the admission process now. Once these steps are complete, the student will speak with a counselor to discuss their academic goals, career goals, and finalize the admission process. Often students ask, “How can I be accepted to SCC?” The answer is simple – visit the admissions page on the SCC website and get started today!
Once prospective students complete the admission process, they will register for New Student Orientation. At New Student Orientation, students will complete the remaining steps to ensure they are ready for classes beginning on August 17. With only one New Student Orientation remaining on August 13, after applying, the staff at Sampson Community College looks forward to seeing you there.
At orientation, program advisors will help new students select classes that are of interest to them and applicable to their desired program of study. Students who are not quite sure what degree to seek are welcome to take general education courses that will get them started on a path while they explore a variety of opportunities for their major.
Registration dates for all students are August 12 and 13, 9 a.m. – p.m. and 4-7 p.m. If you are a returning student that needs to register for the fall, please plan to meet with an advisor on August 12th.
