“Disney’s High School Musical” is in rehearsal and will be the next show on our big stage in downtown Clinton.

This show had its beginning as a Disney Channel television film in January 2006 and became the most successful film that Disney Channel Original Movie ever produced. It is also the first Disney Channel Movie to have a theatrical sequel which is what you will see in Aug. 21-23, 28-30 so get your tickets ASAP at Inkspot or Matthew’s Gifts to be assured of a seat. Some critics feel this shows plot is a modern day “Romeo and Juliet” but you are free to agree or disagree with this assumption.

We wish to thank David Hobson, a local attorney, for volunteering to sponsor this production. David has two girls, Kate and Emma, who have been in our shows over the past few years and David wanted to show his pride for the theater in a show where his daughters were not cast members. This is the purest form of civic pride and we ask that you thank David for his generosity.

The board met recently and a broad spectrum of shows for our 2016 season were discussed but nothing was confirmed. The board is to research the shows suggested and review the royalties and whether the rights are available with confirmation to be based on the findings. If you have a favorite show you would like to see, call us at 592-8653 and leave us a message. It’s possible your suggestion will be seen on the big stage of the Sampson Community Theater next season.

Auditions for Big River will be held on Saturday, Aug. 1 at 10 a.m. This production is being directed by Dan Holland and features roles for all ages. This musical is filled with fun songs and a great message. It is based on the Mark Twain classic, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. We hope to see you on Saturday.

Our website is available at: www.sampsoncommunitytheatre.org and we are on Facebook but if you visit us there, we ask that you “like” us while there.

Thoughts Until Next Week

Any person capable of angering you becomes your master. They can anger you only when you permit yourself to be disturbed by them.

If you treat an individual as if they were what they ought to be and could be, they will become what they ought to be and could be.
