Family, friends honored at area churches

On Friday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m. a Prophetic Service will be held at The New Church of Christ, Faison. Prophet Michael Norris, choir and congregation of Raleigh will be the guest speaker for the evening.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m., Family, Friends and Homecoming will be observed at Cedar Creeks Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. The guset speaker will be the Rev. James Jackson, associate minister of Greater Six Runs Missionary Baptist Church, Turkey. Dinner will be served following the service.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m., Family and Friends Day will be observed at Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church, Keener. The guest is Elder Fernonda Geddie, choir and congregation of Piney Green Disciples Church, Newton Grove. Dinner will be served following the service.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, at 2:30 p.m., Jackson Grove Bible Church of God, Midway, will celebrate their Gospel Choir Anniversary. Different groups scheduled to perform.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, at 3 p.m., the Youth Choir will celebrate their anniversary at Goshen Disciples Church, Faison.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, at 3 p.m., the Senior Choir of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church, Autryville, will celebrate their 71st anniversary.

On Sunday, Sept. 13, at 5 p.m., doors open at 4 p.m., The Kingdom Builders of Goldsboro will have a Gospel Explosion at Moses Chapel Church, 165 David Bright Road, Faison. Union Grove Church of Christ, Disciples of Christ, Inc., 716 Lisbon St., Clinton proudly announces its Pre-Pastoral Anniversary revival, Sept. 16-18 beginning nightly at 7:30 p.m. The guest revivalist is evangelist Hattie Lofton of Hickory Grove Church of Christ, Four Oaks. Different choirs each night.

The 13th Year Pastoral Anniversary honoring Elder Dr. Timothy Peppers, Sr. and Lady Kim Peppers will be held on Sunday, Sept. 20 at 11 a.m. The guest preacher is Elder Bobby Lamb of St. Mary’s United Holiness Church, Kenansville. The Union Grove mass choir will render the music. Anniversary dinner at 1:30 p.m.

On Sunday, Sept. 20, at 3:30 p.m., a Mother-Praise Service will be observed at Holly Grove Church of Christ, Clinton. The guest will be Elder Onyx Martin, choir and congregation of St. Paul Church of Christ, Clinton.

On Wednesday Oct. 7, at 7 p.m., the 2015 W.I.D.U Anniversary Together As One Unity Service will be held at Brown’s Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Clinton. The special guest will be Jeff Pattern and Company.

On Saturday, Oct. 17, at 6 p.m., Western Assembly Disciples of Christ Churches Appreciation Banquet Honoring Bishop Charles James Williams Sr. 38 years of service.
