One man has been linked to a recent robbery at Dollar General in Clinton, and another arrest is expected in the investigation, Clinton Police Department officials said Sunday.
At 7:48 p.m. Wednesday, a white male suspect entered the Dollar General at 707 Southeast Blvd. in Clinton and presented a note to the clerk demanding money. According to police, the suspect did not display any weapons, “but made gestures that made the clerk believe he was armed,” police reports stated.
The suspect then fled on foot after receiving an undisclosed sum of money from the store.
Clinton Police uniform patrol officers and investigators from the Neighborhood Improvement Team responded to the Dollar General and compared evidence from the scene with other law enforcement agencies in the area that had experienced similar robberies.
NIT investigators were able to obtain warrants for Stacy Allen Rogers, 46, of Wilmington, who will soon be charged with common law robbery.
Rogers is currently in the Pender County Jail, but is expected to officially be served with the charge in the near future.
Investigators believe that an additional suspect will also be charged in the incident.
