Taking the stage

The cast of ‘The Best Christmas Pageant Ever’ run through lines in an early rehearsal on the Sampson Community Theater stage. In this hilarious Christmas classic, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids — probably the most inventively awful kids in history. The play is proudly sponsored by Matthews Gifts & Jordan Shopping Plaza, written by Barbara Robinson and directed by Angela Martin. Shows are set for Nov. 13-14, 20-21 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 14-15 and 21-22 at 3 p.m.
