The Sampson Arts Council is hosting the RUN 2 the ARTS 5k color and fun run Saturday, Nov. 7, with a start time at 8:30 a.m. The run will begin at the Victor R. Small House on College Street.
“It’s time to put on your running shoes and support the arts in Sampson County,” Kara Donatelli, Sampson Arts Council director said.
According to Donatelli, the race will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Small House and race through downtown. Registration will be from 7-8:15 a.m. The color run starts at 8:35 a.m. and the awards ceremony will be at 10 a.m.
“This is not just an ordinary race,” Donatelli said. “It’s a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness and individuality. Whether you are a walker, runner or simply participate as a cheerleader along the way, this will be an exciting and fun event for all ages. Life is not always about how fast you finish the race, but more about the fun you have along the way.”
As a non-profit organization, the Art Council is presenting the Color Run to raise money to support the arts in Sampson County. Donatelli said that funds raised support arts programming throughout the year including adult and student art workshops, art exhibits and receptions, student art club, Sunday happenings, and much more.
“With your help, we can continue to produce programs and events that advance the arts and engage our county’s residents and visitors,” Donatelli shared.
