Senate Leader Phil Berger (R-Rockingham) on Tuesday announced the Senate members of the General Assembly’s top government oversight committee.
The Joint Legislative Commission on Governmental Operations provides ongoing legislative oversight of state government functions and operations between legislative sessions. Among other responsibilities, it is charged with examining the management, cost and effectiveness of government programs and monitoring compliance with state law.

“This committee makes state government more accountable to its citizens, and I thank our senators for their willingness to serve and help fulfill this important responsibility,” said Berger.
