On Oct. 9, 2015, the cadets of Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy (TCA) held their class Walkathon fundraising event.
Each class donates a percentage of the money to charitable organizations. So Class 45 chose Samaritan’s Purse, Shriner’s Children Hospital and the American Red Cross.
On Friday Nov. 20, the Cadet Advisory Board Chairman, Michael Harris, presented a check for $500 to Shirley Cooper, representative for Samaritan’s Purse. Cooper thanked the cadets and explained to the cadets how disadvantaged children all over the world will appreciate the gift boxes that Samaritan’s Purse provides. Cooper also told the cadets what items are required for the boxes and presented the cadets with magazines and a video of how the boxes have inspired children around the world.
