Theater prepares for ‘magical’ Christmas

By Bruce Caldwell - Contributing columnist

The Sampson Community Theater will be a busy place over the upcoming holidays highlighted by the presence on our big stage by Taylor and Vicki Michaels, a husband-wife duo who are not only accomplished musicians but also expert magicians.

They will bring their talents to entertain and amaze you next Friday, Dec. 18 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. Tickets may be purchased at Matthews Gifts, Inkspot, and at the theater during the morning hours. This is not a patron sponsor event but a much needed fundraiser for the theater and will be a fun show for kids to senior citizens so make your plans to attend at least one of these unusual performances which we guarantee you will enjoy and hopefully get you in the mood to celebrate the birth of our Christ in the barn in Bethlehem.

Also ongoing at SCT are rehearsals for “Little Women” where L.J. Carr has double cast this musical with the two casts numbering around forty performers. Rehearsals will continue over the holidays which goes to show the dedication needed to be a cast member and you can expect perfection when the show opens in February 2016.

It’s time to become a new Patron Sponsor or renew your Patron Sponsor tickets for our 2016 season. A Patron Sponsor ticket allows two people to attend all of our shows at a reduced rate and also get the name of the patrons or business in all our programs. You may purchase your 2016 Patron Sponsor tickets by contacting any Board member. Our proposed 2016 shows are listed below.

Our website is available at: www.sampsoncommunitytheatre.org and we are on Facebook but if you visit us there, we ask that you “like” us while there.

If everyone is thinking alike then someone isn’t thinking — George Patton

Sometimes people don’t want to hear the truth

because they don’t want their illusions destroyed.

Don’t educate your children to be rich, educate them to be

happy and when they grow up they will know the value of

things. Not the price.
