Theater hosting magical Christmas show

By Bruce Caldwell - Contributing columnist

Make way! Clear the stage! Taylor and Vicki Michaels, the accomplished husband-wife duo, will take over the big stage at the Sampson Community Theater this Friday, Dec. 18 and Saturday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m. and again on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. where they will present a program of Christmas music and a plethora of magic acts for the sole purpose of getting us prepared for our celebration of Christs birth over two centuries ago.

You may purchase your tickets now at Inkspot or Matthews Gifts or at the theater during the mornings or at the box office prior to the performances. This is not a patron sponsor event but a much needed fundraiser for the theater and will be a fun show for kids to senior citizens so make your plans to attend at least one of these unusual performances which we guarantee you will enjoy and hopefully get you in the mood to celebrate the birth of our Christ in the barn in Bethlehem.

Dan Holland is to be thanked for arranging this popular show at this busy time of the year.

Ongoing at SCT are rehearsals for “Little Women,” where L.J. Carr has double cast this musical with the two casts numbering around 40 performers. Rehearsals will continue over the holidays which goes to show the dedication needed to be a cast member and you can expect perfection when the show opens in February 2016. At a rehearsal this week the set was being built by a group of dedicated volunteers. A big “thank you” to each and everyone of you.

It’s time to become a new Patron Sponsor or renew your Patron Sponsor tickets for our 2016 season. A Patron Sponsor ticket allows two people to attend all of our shows at a reduced rate and also get the name of the patrons or business in all our programs. You may purchase your 2016 Patron Sponsor tickets by contacting any Board member. Our proposed 2016 shows are listed below.

Our website is available at: www.sampsoncommunitytheatre.org and we are on Facebook but if you visit us there, we ask that you “like” us while there

THOUGHTS UNTIL NEXT WEEK:

Experience is not what happens to a person; It is what the person does with what happens to them.

Kindness is in our power, even when fondness is not.

Keep your fears to yourself, but share your courage with others.
