Congressman David Rouzer recently visited Hobbton High School and spoke to the Honors Civics and Economics and AP U.S. History classes.
Rouzer is the U.S. Representative of the seventh congressional district, which includes Sampson County. During his time at Hobbton, Rouzer spoke of his experiences as a congressman thus far, his duties, and what he has planned for his political future. The importance of government spending, security, and time well spent in Congress were discussed as well.
The students asked many questions on topics being dealt with today. Some of these included fracking, tax rates, and the safety of our nation. Agriculture became a common topic as well, as Rouzer stated, “There is no industry more dependent upon having good trade agreements than agriculture.”
With Hobbton hosting Rouzer to speak with some of the students, it has enabled a broader view of the nation, leaders, and ideas to strengthen the world in which we live in today for these young adults.
