Two casts chosen for ‘Dalmatians’

Dr. Bruce Caldwell

Auditions for “101 Dalmatians” were held this past weekend and was a smashing success. There were enough kids who auditioned that there will be two casts consisting of around 30 youngsters in each cast. The casts have separate names with one named “Kanine Cuties” and the other “Doggie Wonders” and together they will present eight shows or four performances each Rehearsals will be on weekends only until school is out. Then rehearsals will pick up until perfection is reached just before opening night on Thursday,June 18 at 8 pm.

On June 24 at 10 am a special performance is planned for Summer Care Camps and pre-schools only (the public is not invited). Day Care facilities need to call the director, L. J. Carr, at 336-1111 for details of this performance. Prestage Farms and a grassroots grant through the NC Arts Council are to be congratulated for sponsoring this popular show

There are a few spots available for the ensemble (chorus with no speaking lines) so if you have a child that missed auditions and has the desire to act like a cute puppy bring him or her to the next rehearsal at the theater Friday,May 15 at 8 pm.

Thoughts until next week:

• I don’t want to brag or make anyone jealous, but I can still fit into the socks I wore in high school.

• It’s all right to look on the bright side, but it’s wiser to look on both sides.

• Accept the fact that some days you’re the pigeon and some days you’re the statue.
