A Sampson County teenager was shot dead Tuesday in Hoke County and sheriff’s investigators in that area are searching for any information about what they are calling a homicide.
Hoke County Sheriff Hubert A. Peterkin announced Wednesday that the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office was investigating a murder that occurred at North Old Wire Road and McGougan Road in Hoke County. Officers were dispatched at 7:58 p.m. Tuesday and, once on the scene, found 17-year-old Bryan Stuart Requena face down on the ground.
Preliminary investigation shows that Requena was shot. Hoke County Sheriff’s officials identified the teenager as being a resident of Sampson County, however no other information about the incident has been released.
“Hoke County Detectives are continuously investigating and following leads,” a prepared statement from the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office read.
