A Plain View man has received a felony sex charge in connection with a Sampson County Sheriff’s investigation that is reportedly still ongoing, with additional charges possible.
George Anthony Jackson, 58, of 52 Hunters Ridge Trail, Dunn, was charged with third degree sexual exploitation of a minor. The age of the victim and date of offense were not immediately released.
The exploitation offense is a Class H felony.According to law, “a person commits the offense of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor if, knowing the character or content of the material, he possesses material that contains a visual representation of a minor engaging in sexual activity.”
Little information has been disclosed by sheriff’s officials in the Jackson case in particular, other than to confirm the arrest and say that investigation in the case is continuing. Jackson was arrested at the Hunters Ridge Trail address and placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under $100,000 secured bond.
“The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be filed,” Sheriff’s Capt. Eric Pope said Wednesday. “We will release additional information when the investigation is complete. (We are) unable to release anything else at this point.”
