As mentioned before, Neil Simon has wrote many plays that have been made into movies after being a successful Broadway play. Most of his comedies have ordinary people in unusual circumstances and coming to Clinton for the first time is the unusual play about a young lady coming across the country to reunite with her father who abandoned her and her mother years before because she has dreams of being a star in the movies and thinks her father can help her grab that dream.

The cast for this show is small but they all have extensive theatrical experience so you can expect a few hours of first hand entertainment when “I Ought To Be In Pictures” debuts on Friday, April 8, at 8 p.m. and which is sponsored by The Florist and Antiques of Warsaw.

We have three new members on the board of directors to welcome this week which I will introduce as I receive info about them. One member is Dr. Ada Conway who is a pediatrician at The Clinton Medical Clinic. She was born in Huntington, W.V. and received her MD degree from WVU School of Medicine. Her pediatric fellowship was at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. She practiced Pediatrics in Bridgeport,W.V. for seven years before relocating to Clinton Medical Clinic. Her 15 year old son is an honor student at Clinton High, while her 11 year old daughter takes dance and baton lessons and performs in Angela’s Musical Troup. Dr. Conway’s hobbies include travel and attending as many plays and musicals as she can work in whether in NYC, DPAC, or SCT. She is aware that this is a working board, so you may see her selling popcorn or sweeping the floor after a performance.

All patrons are asked to mark your calendar for the Patron Appreciation Event Saturday April 23 at 8 p.m., where all valid patrons will be freely entertained with a Las Vegas type show which will be taped to submit as an audition tape for potential entertainment on a cruise ship over the summer by Taylor Michaels and which will be a mix of music and magic.

Patron Sponsor tickets are available by calling Brenda Martin at 990-4510. These tickets allow two people to attend every show we produce and get their names included in every program at a reduced rate.

Thoughts until next week:

Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.

The person born with a talent they are meant to use will find their greatest happiness in using it.

Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone.
