A Clinton man is facing a felony charge after allegedly being caught with drugs in jail, reportedly after he had just been arrested on another drug offense.

Christopher Ray Taylor, 35, of 189 Harmony Acres Lane, Clinton, was charged with possession of a controlled substance in prison/jail and simple possession of a Schedule III controlled substance.

Taylor was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under $25,000 secured bond for the charges, which were served on Friday. He was reportedly arrested on drug charges and taken to the Detetion Center for processing, during which time additional drugs were located, bringing the extra felony charge, sheriff’s authorities said.

According to reports, three dosage units of suboxone, used to treat opioid addiction, were seized.
