I-40 stop nets felony arrest

A traffic stop on Interstate 40 on Monday resulted in the felony arrest of a Wake County man, according to Sampson Sheriff’s reports.

The traffic stop was conducted at about 4 p.m. Monday near mile marker 355 in the Faison area.

Darren Michael Allen, 36, of 916 Beddingfield Drive, Knightdale, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for storage of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Authorities seized was 34 grams of marijuana from the 2008 Chevy Impala Allen was driving, reports state.

Allen was placed in the Sampson County Detention Center under $30,000 secured bond.
