A Clinton man with a long rap sheet has been arrested again, this time for allegedly robbing a male victim of an undisclosed sum of money.

Julio Frentez Morales, 33, of 1150 Indian Town Road, Clinton, has been charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, a felony offense. He was arrested Wednesday and placed in the Sampson County Detention under $50,000 secured bond stemming from a warrant issued Monday.

Sheriff’s reports note that the robbery occurred shortly after midnight on March 5. The victim was reportedly assaulted, suffering minor injuries from being struck in the head with a weapon while on Gill Lane, Clinton.

According to court records available through the N.C Department of Public Safety, Morales has a lengthy criminal history in Sampson County, with a string of convictions between 2000-2006. Those convictions have been on charges of speeding to elude arrest, resisting an officer, simple assault, assault on a female, assault on an officer, as well as multiple breaking and entering and larceny offenses.

His most recent conviction came in October 2006 on charges of assault inflicting serious injury and communicating threats, court records show.
