Warsaw man shot in Clinton area

Sampson County Sheriff’s authorities are investigating a shooting in the Clinton area, in which a Warsaw man suffered several gunshots wounds.

The shooting was reported at 10:40 p.m. Friday, April 29, on MB Bennett Lane.

According to reports, Adam Stamper Jones, 26, of Warsaw sustained injuries in the incident. The victim reported that he went to visit a friend on MB Bennett Lane and, once at the residence, observed an unknown black male operating a green Jeep Cherokee in the roadway.

The shooting occurred in the area of 171 MB Bennett Lane, Clinton.

According to reports, several shots were fired at Jones’ 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass, “striking him several times.” The victim did not receive any life-threatening injuries and the crime is being investigated.
