A Clinton man was arrested on felony charges stemming from a break-in that occurred less than an hour before he was handcuffed, according to Sampson County Sheriff’s reports.
Tony Edward Blue, 29, of 1115 Warren Road, Clinton, has been charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering and possession of stolen property. His bond set at $21,000 secured.
Blue was arrested at the 3400 block of Penny Tew Mill Road, Roseboro, on Friday in connection with a break-in reported shortly before 11 a.m. Friday. Blue was booked on the charges at noon.
Sheriff’s Lt. Marcus Smith confirmed Tuesday that the arrest was made following investigation of a break-in and larceny reported Friday by Roy Tew of Penny Tew Mill Road.
“During the breaking and entering several automotive parts were reported stolen, with an estimated value of $1,000,” Smith stated. “The investigation led investigators to the arrested subject.”
According to reports, all items were recovered. Blue was also served with an additional warrant, dated Jan. 27, on a charge of misdemeanor larceny.
According to the N.C. Department of Public Safety court records, Blue was previously convicted on several drug and larceny convictions out of Harnett County in 2006-07.
