On the morning of April 8, the North Carolina Tarheel ChalleNGe Academy (TCA) held a Walk-a-thon involving all of the cadets in the academy.

Each TCA class gives a percent of the money they collect to the American Red Cross and other charities. The other charities for Class 46 include the Habitat for Humanity and Wounded Warrior Project.

On May 13, Class 46 presented a $500 check to Phil Harris, executive director, for the Highlands Chapter of the American Red Cross. Cadet Deja Pettiway, the Cadet Advisory Board (CAB) Chairman presented the check on behalf of the Class. Harris told the cadets how much it was appreciated and how the Red Cross helps in the aftermath of disasters such as home fires and storms, as well as helping soldiers and their families.
