The North Carolina Association of Rescue and Emergency Medical Services, Inc. awards each year, 30 $9,500 scholarships to 30 outstanding high school graduates. Clinton High School student Reid Herring has earned one of those scholarships.
These awards are eligible to those students who make application the year of graduation or within one year after graduation during the next application period and who will be enrolling in a four-year college or university in North Carolina, beginning in the Fall, after the application period. This scholarship may be awarded for a total of four years.
Awards shall be based upon the student’s scholastic achievement, intellectual ability, financial need, character and promise of future contribution to our State and Nation. Selection of recipients is to be made without discrimination as to race, sex, creed or national origin.
This Awards Program provides $975,000 per year in scholarships to 480 children of eligible members and members of rescue squads and emergency medical services in North Carolina.
